This position can be difficult on the field, but it is certainly appreciated by the players, coaches and teams. Without an umpire, the games wouldn’t be possible.
Thank you is never enough.
This position is compensated after every game.
Plate Umpires receive $50/game. Field Umpires receive $25/game
We ask that all umps finish a simple, free, online training course.
You will receive a link and instructions after registering.
**If you would like your umping session to count toward your required volunteer credits, you can indicate that when you check-in at the game**
All umps should arrive at games 15 minutes before the game time and check-in at the concessions window.

UMPIRES COME IN ALL AGES
We allow umpires to be one level above the game they are officiating, for example:
9u games can be done by 11u age players
11u games can be done by 13u age players
13u games can be officiated by 15u players
Quad city baseball has stringent rules that prevent any unwanted harassment of umpires. Players and coaches of South Ridge Area Youth Baseball and visiting teams conform and are mindful of these rules.
